and Activities

The Solar Roadshow
The Solar Roadshow is a million-dollar rig that is covered with solar panels on top, and inside it’s a “museum on wheels,” all about renewable energy - like wind and solar. The Roadshow’s solar panels are going to drive a “Solar-Powered Concert”. Solar power in action! Come and see the future of energy! We are grateful to the Illinois IBEW Renewable Energy Fund and IBEW Local 134 from Chicago for bringing the Solar Roadshow to the Aurora GreenFest.

Danzantes Unidos MITOTILIZTLI
10:00AM
As you know most of the culture of the various Native American groups has been lost due to different agents and factors. The focus of our group is to try to preserve what is left of them and also to learn and rescue some other aspects of them including their values. We share them and frame them in a way that may be relevant in today's world. We have learned that one of the strongest values across different groups in the Americas is the respect for Nature
In our group we have participants from various Indigenous nations such the Totonacs, Aztecs, Purepexas, and Huicholes from Mexico as well as Apache and Pueblo Nations from USA.

Plato once said that music “is a more potent instrument than any other for education”.
Recent research has found that music uses both sides of the brain simultaneously, a fact that makes it valuable in all areas of development. Music affects brain growth academically, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
The Fox River Academy’s music classes provide private, semi-private and group sessions for preschoolers through teens, adults, and seniors. Enrollment includes opportunities for students to participate in theory classes, community recitals and events, evaluated performances, and other programs.
